The luminol reagent reacts with an oxidizing agent in the presence of HRP-conjugated antibodies to emit light, allowing chemiluminescent detection of target proteins on membranes.
It’s used primarily in Western blotting and other HRP-based immunoassays to visualize proteins with a chemiluminescent signal.
Mix equal volumes of the luminol and oxidizing solutions just before use, then apply to the membrane after antibody incubation and washes.
